Beware
of Spy Ware
I was kind of
shocking when I found a stranger software--Radiate (Advertising)
in my computer system. I check the property of this software, I
realized that is a spyware. I don't have any idea when and how it
has got into my computer. I don't know how much my personal information
that software has spied or had been sent out. So, I've done little
bit of researching. I've found out that software is the worst spyware
ever in the Internet.
Here, I'd like
to share with what I've learned.
So what is
the spyware? What does it do?
Spyware is ANY
SOFTWARE which employs a user's Internet connection in the background
(the so-called "backchannel") without their knowledge
or explicit permission. It is secretly profiling their users' listening
habits, Aureate/Radiate and Conducent Technologies whose advertising,
monitoring, and profiling software sneaks into our machines without
our knowledge or permission, Comet Cursor which secretly tracks
our web browsing, GoHip who hijacks our web browser and alters our
email signatures . . . and many other hopeful and exploitative newcomers
on the horizon.
The Internet is wonderful, but also a kind dangerous. So be careful!
Only download those free stuff from trusted sites.
How, and
where did one get it?
They came from
various ways. Most likely they come from so called "Free Stuff",
such as free game... which embedded those Ad-spyware sponsor. Is
it illegal? Hard to say. However, they know how to protect themselves.
You hardly get chances to sue them. Because when you download something,
probably you won't bother to read all term and condition before
you click "I Agree". So the odds, you are already agreed
that let it in.
How to get
rid of them?
Thanks Lavasoft,

You
can use it do scanning your computer system. It could do completely
remove spyware that it detected. Notice that I mean completely
remove it. Some time you do uninstall, it doesn't mean you've
removed all of files that a spyware installed your computer. The
spyware will remain on your computer, often buried within the Windows
System Registry. You need manually remove it from windows registry.
