Report of
the CCCPA Delegation To China
As announced in CCCPA news updates
(Oct. 14, 2002 & Oct. 25, 2002), CCCPA organized a delegation
to participate in the 5th Convention of Overseas Chinese Scholars
in Science and Technology held in Guangzhou from December
28th to December 30th, 2002. With the coordination of our
sister organization in New York (NYCCPA), a total of 12 people
went to Guangzhou. CCCPA plan to work with other IT organizations
around the country and send a full-scale delegation to particapte
in the 6th Convention expected to be held in late December
2003. Please stay tuned.
The Convention of Overseas Chinese Scholars
in Science & Technology (Guangzhou) was first held in
1998. Since then, a growing number of overseas Chinese scholars
have found opportunities through this venue and returned to
China. While the Convention was primarily to attract overseas
Chinese for career opportunities back home, it also provided
a forum for overseas Chinese to present their projects or
business plans and to explore entrepreneurial opportunities
or seek business partners in China. Returnees also shared
their experience at the Convention. The city of
Guangzhou provided food and accommodation (double occupancy)
for participants from Dec. 26 to Dec. 30 at no charge.
