CCCPA Golf Outing - Tentative out plan
Hello, All,

First, I'd like to thank all of you to take time to fill out the survey questions. The results of the survey is distributed to the CCCPA list. For your convience, I enclosed the results below.

-- 9 people participate the survey and show the interest to the outing.
-- majority of replies prefer a 9-hole course for the outing.
-- time preference(sat/sun) is almost 50-50%.
-- a couple of golf courses suggusted.
-- no suggustion for format of the outing.

Take all the preferences into consideration, Here is what we are going to do.

What: CCCPA Golf Outing
When: 9/28 or 9/29 (TBD based upon the availability of the tee time)
Where: Streamwood Oaks golf course (565 Madison Dr, Streamwood, IL)
Competition format: Scramble
This is a team competition, each tee time is a team which can be three-some or four-some. Each player drives off the first tee. The team captain then chooses the best drive, and all the players take their ball to this position. They all then hit a shot from there. The captain again chooses the best second shot. Everyone else take their ball to that spot and continues until the first player has hole out. Sum up the scores for whole game, the team with the lowest final score wins.

NOTE:
--time selection is based upon a suggustion from the survey that october could be too cold to golf.
-- For place selection, I didn't take any places suggusted from the survey where either too far from the others, or not 9-hole, or not enough challenge for other players. Streamwood Oaks golf course is the place I played this season in Motorola Golf League. It is 9-hole course containing one or two 5-par, two 3-par, and rest of 4-pars. A nice combination for new players and also post enough challenge to experienced. And also, I know two or three people will come from Naperville/Aurora, and some others are from Shaumburg/Palatine area. This place is a middle point. It probably take 35-45 mins driving.
-- For the format selection, since we have a mix of new players and experienced ones, I think that this format will make the game fun for both.

Thanks for your participation.

Kevin
